DhaneW Software Research, a Trivandrum based start-up, has released a series of mobile games based on the Android platform. ‘Tic Tac Toe NeO’ and ‘Little Octo Tic Tac Toe’ are the games launched in November, 2011. Founded in 2009, DhaneW Research operates in digital gaming and software usability domains and had earlier released the traditional board game, KavidiKali in 2010. The company has lined up two new Android games for launch in December.
Talking to Kerala IT News, Dhanan Sekhar Edathara, MD, DhaneW Research said, “Tic Tac Toe NeO is an attempt to create an innovative game combining the classic Tic Tac Toe game play with dozens of new creative board designs and a very simple game package. Since its launch on November 21, it received several thousand page views from 40 countries on the very first day and has been going from strength to strength ever since. The game features 48 levels, creative board designs and neon glow graphics.”
Little Octo Tic Tac Toe is the first Tic Tac Toe game built on DhaneW Flexible Tic Tac Toe Engine, the same game engine used in Tic Tac Toe NeO. It has different boards than that of Tic Tac Toe NeO, and the graphics caters to an entirely different set of users. The game features 60 levels, very simple graphics and two cute characters. Tic Tac Toe NeO and Little Octo Tic Tac Toe’s combined page views have crossed the 1,00,000 mark. The user base is distributed around almost hundred countries across the world.
KavidiKali was the very first game launched by DhaneW Research and was a hot favourite during the 2011 Onam season. “Being the only web site of its kind, KavidiKali.com serves the larger purpose of preserving a piece of our tradition for the future generations. More important these days because the new generation has not even heard about traditional games like KavidiKali”, adds Dhanan.
